Board of Trustees

Carlthorp School’s governing body sets policy consistent with the School’s purpose but delegates implementation to the Head.  The Trustees also ensure the fiscal stability of the School through financial oversight.

The Board of Trustees is made up of individuals who are stakeholders in the School and who understand its mission and culture. Trustees include parents who have expertise in fields representative of the greater Los Angeles area, including healthcare, business, the law, and education.  In addition to having representation from each grade level, some of the other Trustees come from the local community outside the School. Currently, for example, the Board includes members from law enforcement and “the industry.”  Since Carlthorp School enjoys such a long and rich history, several of our former Board chairs remain actively involved today. Individually and collectively, this conscientious group shares the School’s dedication to excellence and works to shape long-term vision.
