“Why are things as they are and not otherwise?”
- Johannes Kepler
At Carlthorp School, the science program strives to embrace our students’ inherent curiosities. In Kindergarten through sixth grade we tap into their creative energy as we introduce them to the skills and processes at the foundation of scientific practice. Through guided and open inquiry, students learn to pose questions, to follow and develop plans for answering them, and to analyze their results. A well-rounded curriculum including life, earth, and physical sciences is complemented with engineering activities and computer science units. Our mission is for our graduates to leave Carlthorp excited about science and equipped with a strong scientific foundation to build upon in their middle and high school years.
