Every Child is Special
The Carlthorp School classroom is a haven for bright children and the families who love and support them. Unlike larger public or independent schools, Carlthorp School teachers are able to really get to know the twenty children in their care. At the first sign that a child might need additional attention, your child’s teacher will be on the phone with you to work through the issue. On any given day, your child might be found in the classroom during lunch, chatting with the teacher and drawing on the white boards, or off to the science lab to study a scraped hand under the microscope.
Individual Attention
With small group classes for reading in every grade, small group classes for math in second through sixth grades, and small group English classes in third through sixth grades, individual attention from our credentialed, inventive faculty is the hallmark of the Carlthorp School experience.
Anything is Possible
Math will take on new meaning as you work in a team to design and build a weight-bearing bridge out of toothpicks, geometry comes to life when you design a kite, attempt to fly it at the beach, and then write a poem about the experience. You might learn ratios of up to downed pins at the bowling alley, or hone your writing skills while writing, acting, directing, and video-taping your own one act play. Your child will see Carlthorp School as a safe haven away from home, a place where anything is possible, and every day brings a new adventure!
