The Carlthorp School Community is a unique haven just a few blocks from the ocean, yet somehow faraway from the more material, worldly concerns that can make raising a family difficult in affluent West Los Angeles. Our "Code of Conduct" reminds our children that making good choices is as important as anything else they learn during the school day.
Carlthorp School families share a special bond with the faculty and administration of our school; we are all focused on the needs of the children. Parents reinforce this message by supporting the values of the school; exclusive birthday parties and over-the-top classroom events are discouraged. Keeping it simple keeps the focus on the growing child, and makes all children equally comfortable within the walls of our school.
A focus on community service teaches the children to think about the greater good we can do within the community, and helps our children to understand their future role in society. Special community building events help reinforce the strength of our community; parents and children alike will become life-long friends with the families in their grades.
