Welcome to the Parent Page!

At Carlthorp School, we have a vibrant parent community of approximately 190 families.  It is our goal to make all parents feel welcomed and connected to the school and to each other.  We strive to provide ways for parents to be involved in areas that match their interests, talents, and schedules, enriching both the student and parent experience.  Everyone has something to offer our school community, and we hope that all parents will find–or create–a niche that inspires them.

Parent Involvement

Opportunities abound for our parents to interact with each other and participate in activities that support the school and promote Carlthorp School community-building.  Parents volunteer as Room Parents and Sports’ Team Parents, Hot Lunch Servers, Field Trip Chaperones, Late Care Supervisors, and as Chairpersons and Members of Committees: Community Service Committee, Concerns Committee, Diversity Committee, Great Books Leaders, Library Committee, Mentor Program Committee, Party Book Committee, Picture Day Committee, Prospective Family Event Committee, Speech and Hearing Committee, Used Uniform Sale Committee, and Yearbook Committee.

Each year, we look forward to a fantastic array of events, in which our dedicated parents play a pivotal role.  These occasions offer terrific opportunities for parents to gather and work together in support of the school community. These events include: African-American History Celebration, ArtSmart Day, Back to School Night, Book Fair, Earth Day, Faculty Appreciation Luncheons, Grandparents’ and Special Friends’ Day, Ice Cream Social, International Day, La Fiesta Latina, Lunar New Year, Mentor Family Picnic, Scholarship Benefit, and School Picnic at Calamigos Ranch.
