Parent Volunteers

All Carlthorp School students are taught that community service and giving back are important. The school thanks you for giving back to the Carlthorp community and through your participation reinforcing the lesson of giving back. There are many varied opportunities to utilize your talents and expertise in a volunteer capacity at the school.  Please fill out the form below to volunteer for the 2017-2018 school year.

Please contact Lonnie and Peggy at lonandpeg@carlthorp.org if you have any questions or concerns.

Volunteer Opportunities
Please indicate which parent(s) is (are) volunteering for the following activities:

- Help plan and/or assist with a booth or workshop.

- Assist with sales of CS logowear the first Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday morning of the school year.

- Assist as needed in the planning and execution of this benefit for our scholarship program.

- Under the direction of the classroom teacher, the Room Parents will plan and assist with class parties, activities, and field trips. The room parents will also be part of the Emergency Phone Tree. The Room Parents (parents only please-no assistants or nannies) will be decided by lottery. You may not be a room parent for the same class two years in a row unless there are no other volunteers. We would like every parent to have the opportunity to participate over the course of their child’s tenure, if they wish. Please realize this job requires a significant time commitment. The room parent lottery will take place after the children’s class placements have been determined. You will be notified in the August mailing.

- Assist the caterer in distributing the prepared lunches to the children. Three parents will be needed at each lunch (11:10 a.m. -12:45 p.m.). The frequency of assignment will depend on the number of volunteers. This assignment is usually 4 or 5 times during the school year.

- Assist in serving the Friday Hot Lunches (11:10 a.m.-12:45 p.m.). Six parents are needed at each lunch as the food is served family style at two stations. This assignment is usually once or twice during the school year.
