Every day begins with one of the school’s most time-honored traditions, our morning assembly, which serves to weave each student’s days into memorable years. Parents are welcome as we gather to celebrate each child’s birthday, salute the flag, and take a few moments to reflect upon a special “Thought for the Day.”
As the rest of the day unfolds, Carlthorp School students have the opportunity to participate in a rich array of programs that enhance their strong academic and social experience.
The calendar for every school year contains a number of special events. They include Back to School Night, picture days, International Day or ArtSmart on an alternating basis, an ice-cream social for incoming kindergarteners and their families, the annual auction and dinner, the Mentor Picnic, a celebration of Hispanic culture on or near May 5, parent parties for individual grade levels, end-of-the-year parties, Chinese New Year, Earth Day, the annual book fair, and, of course, the sixth grade commencement. A more detailed list of activities can be found in the “Seasonal Activities” link. We are proud of the robust school life we provide for our students.
