Open to Carlthorp Graduates Currently in Grades 10-12
Carlthorp School is excited to announce the 2019 / 2020 Carlthorp School Fellowship. The Fellowship is a unique opportunity for CS alumni currently in grades 10 -12 to demonstrate leadership, serve as role models to Carlthorp School 6th Graders, and be young alumni ambassadors in the community.
Carlthorp Alumni Fellows will:
Serve as Teaching Assistants for the Carlthorp/KidUnity 6th Grade Civics Program (January-March)
Help prepare 6th Grade students for the Washington, D.C. trip
Travel to Washington, D.C., with the 6th Grade class, teachers, KidUnity directors & Mr. Kusserow on an all-expense paid trip
Mentor students as they experience the magic of Washington, D.C., and meet with lawmakers, policy experts, & journalists
Carlthorp School thanks its 2019 Fellows! This past year, four Fellows worked with the 6th grade policy teams to prepare them for their trip to to Washington, D.C. where they met with lawmakers, policy experts, NGOs, and journalists. 2019 Carlthorp School Fellows were:
In addition to a three day packed schedule of meetings with lawmakers, NGOs and policy experts, and a day full of museums and monuments, the 2019 Fellows enjoyed a private meeting with President Obama’s Director of Communications, Jen Psaki. We hope to arrange similar special opportunities for this year's Fellows.
Fellows will serve as alumni ambassadors and may be asked to represent the school in special on-campus or community events.
