Virtual Thanksgiving Dinner Drive
Like many traditions this year, the Carlthorp School annual Thanksgiving Dinner Drive was reimagined with great success.
Carlthorp continued its long-standing tradition of supporting those in need in our community by offering our families the opportunity to sponsor a pre-packaged family dinner (provided by the Santa Monica College Foundation) for families in need at the Santa Monica Boys and Girls Clubs. Typically students and parents shop for and assemble dinner baskets for families, but due to social distancing, our community was asked to sponsor dinner instead.
We are so very grateful for our families who came together to provide meals for those in need. Brian Souza, Director of Operations, Partnerships & Volunteers at the Santa Monica Boys and Girls Clubs relayed the following message, “We are very grateful for your support and for joining the City's efforts in ensuring the community's most vulnerable families, those who need us the most had a wonderful meal provided for them stress-free this holiday. With your contribution, we distributed 257 Thanksgiving meals to club families."
Established in 1939, Carlthorp School is the oldest independent coeducational day school for grades K-6 located in Santa Monica, California.
