Art

Guided by a team of dedicated and experienced art teachers, students excitedly visit the Art Room to work with a wide range of materials — from watercolor, tempera, and acrylic paints to ink, pastels, chalk, wire, and clay. Throughout the campus, student artwork is on display. As they study major artists throughout history, students learn to recognize their works while gaining a solid foundation that inspires and empowers them to support, appreciate, and create art themselves.

In May, an end-of-year exhibition spotlights one art piece from each student in the school. Every three years, Carlthorp also hosts Celebrate the Arts Day, a day devoted exclusively to the arts, including visual art as well as music, dance, and creative writing.
