Students at all reading levels find books that appeal to their interests, expand their horizons, and match their needs. The robust and expertly curated collection includes a broad spectrum of literature and nonfiction titles.
The Carlthorp School Library is a warm and inviting space. It is a priority of the librarians to source quality books that represent diverse backgrounds, interests, and experiences.

Each class visits the library at least once a week. The library curriculum supports and complements classroom programs and projects. The library period includes story time, book talks (highlighting new additions to the collection and/or books related to a particular theme), and lessons targeting specific library research skills.

A Guided Reading Library (in the Book Room) has also been added as a further resource for every member of the faculty who teaches reading. The collection is far-reaching and the titles span a wide range of subjects, including (but not limited to) adventure, government, natural and physical sciences, U.S. and world history, biographies and technology.

In addition, the library is a great resource for the adults whose children attend Carlthorp School. Whether utilizing the resource section of the library or attending a workshop offered by the school, parents find the space just as welcoming as their children do.
