Elaine Hobert

Admissions Associate
Elaine is from Chicago, Illinois and moved to Los Angeles to attend USC. She double-majored, earning Bachelor’s degrees in Humanities and Piano Performance, and later, her Master’s degree in Education. Elaine spent most of her formative years playing piano. At age 11 she performed Rachmaninoff’s 1st Piano Concerto with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and in 1996 she had the distinction of being the only US finalist chosen to compete in the Chopin International Piano Competition for Young Artists in Moscow. For the last fifteen years, Elaine has enjoyed working with young children as both a piano teacher and an elementary school teacher. She taught in LAUSD for many years before joining Carlthorp's 2nd grade team in 2011. Elaine looks forward to bringing her educational background into her new position in Admissions this year!
