The Science Lab Receives a Facelift

The science lab was transformed over the summer!
Given the popularity of the Innovation Hub remodel in 2017, in particular, the flexible furniture and workstations, the science department identified an opportunity to transform the physical space in order to allow for more active classroom experiments. Static workstations were removed and replaced with mobile desks and mobile stations, allowing for greater variation when configuring assignments and experiments. Aesthetically, the floor, cabinets, and tables were also brightened, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere for the students to explore their creativity.

"The new classroom configuration allows our science teachers to engage more fully with students and design experiments without spacial limitations," says Steve Springer, Associate Head of School & Principal. Always the animal lover he added, "Never fear, there is still space for our beloved animals that live in the science lab.  They just get to watch our students move around more freely."

We cannot wait to see all the wonderful experiments our students will perform in the new science classroom!
