Building Confident Global Communicators — in Spanish

At Carlthorp, language learning is an adventure in confidence, culture, and communication.
In our K-2 Spanish program, early childhood language development is built from the ground up with joy and intention. Through an immersive blend of phonics (Fónica), music, interactive games, and daily conversation, our youngest learners master key pronunciation, core vocabulary, and foundational speech patterns. By exploring everyday themes like family, feelings, routines, and weather, students don’t just memorize words; they build comfortable, natural fluency.

At the end of 2nd grade, students proudly receive their Spanish Fónica certificates — a milestone marking their transition from foundational sound mastery to advanced, confident language learning in the upper elementary years.

With a phonics-based foundation and lessons that incorporate songs and games into everyday learning, our Spanish curriculum prepares students for deeper reading, writing, and conversational skills in 3rd grade and beyond.
